How to make seafood paella


One of the most international Spanish dishes is the Paella and, specifically, the seafood paella. It is a recipe from the Valencian Community that has triumphed all over the world and is a claim for all the people who visit Spain. Knowing how to make seafood paella is not easy because it requires specific steps and high quality foods but, if you follow the steps of the recipe, you can make an exquisite dish worthy of the best restaurants.

  • For 4 people:
  • 400 gr. rice pump
  • 600 gr. of squid
  • 1 liter of fish stock
  • 4 crayfish
  • 8 prawns
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Onion
  • 5 tablespoons crushed tomato
  • Saffron
  • Colorant
  • Peppers
  • Olive oil

To make seafood paella the first thing we should do is cut the onion in very small pieces, that it is minced, and throw it in a pan with a jet of hot oil. Here we will also put the garlic cloves cut into slices and when they are golden brown, we will proceed to cook the squid pieces.


When the squid is cooked, we must add to the pan the 5 tablespoons of Crushed tomato (either by boat or crushed by ourselves) and we will stir to mix with the oil and squid. We let it cook for about 5 minutes and then add the paprika (to taste) and mix everything so that all the flavors adhere.


Next, we must put the 400 grams of rice in the pan and mix everything so that the grain is integrated in the sauce; Now, add a little saffron and stir for a couple of minutes. To get the rice to cook, we must pour the liter of fish soup in the mixture and let it simmer.


We will have to wait for the rice to start to inflate, when we see that the rice appears is when we will have to add seafood to the pan, the crayfish and the prawns. We will let everything cook for about 20 minutes over medium heat and with the lid on the food so that the seafood broth evaporates and we have the seafood paella Dry and without broth.

It is important that you stir prevent rice from sticking to the pan, like this, you will be checking whether or not there is enough broth; if you are missing, you just have to add a little more to your recipe.


When the 20 minutes have elapsed, we must extinguish the fire and let the seafood paella stand for 2 or 3 minutes; Then, you can serve it hot and enjoy a typical Spanish dish and very delicious!
